William "Stan" Gandy

William Stanley "Stan" Gandy, 66, of Whigham, GA passed away on Monday, August 12, 2013 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee, FL. Born on August 4, 1947 in Pavo, GA to the late George Wesley and Earlene McLendon Gandy, he was a retired electrician and painter. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, the Thomasville and Whigham Masonic Lodges and the American Legion Post #144 in Pelham and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife Sarah Jan Godwin Gandy of Whigham, GA, children Sheila Marie Gandy Humphries and husband Chris, of Pelham, GA, Ronnie Gandy and wife Jessica, of Whigham, GA, grandchildren Jesse Humphries, Paige Humphries, Ty Gandy, Trhett Gandy, sisters Kay Lamb and husband Lester, of Coolidge, GA, Linda Sellars and husband Will, of Havana, FL, Gayle Hoke and husband George of Homssasa, FL, Shelba Thomas of Lexington, SC, Linda Gandy of Pelham, GA, brothers Winfred Gandy and wife Reba, of Thomasville, GA, Lavaughn Gandy of Coolidge, GA, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Emerson Gandy and Harold Gandy. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Jamerson Funeral Home in Pelham, GA. A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Rev. Tim Harrell will officiate the services, assisted by Rev. Nathan Fowler.
