Waver Wilder Joiner

Waver Wilder Joiner, 94, of Chesapeake, VA (formerly of Pelham) passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at her residence. Born on May 12, 1919 in Grady Co., GA to the late James Isaac and Rena Coble Wilder, she was a retired assembler for Goody's Manufacturing Company and was a member of Mizpah Primitive Baptist Church. Waver was an amazing person and no one could have asked for a more loving mother and grandmother. She cherished her family and with a nurturing heart showered love over each one of us. She extended that thoughtfulness to both the young and elderly by caring for infants in her home for many years and making visits to the Pelham Parkway Nursing Home to help feed the sick and weak. She was a member of the Mizpah Primitive Baptist Church in Grady County, GA. She had a strong belief in her Lord and Savior and read her Bible every day until she no longer could. Losing a loved one isn't easy, love seldom is, but people of faith can take solace in knowing that this is not the end, merely the end of earthly suffering and that she is rejoicing in Heaven with her family and will be waiting there to greet us. Waver is survived by her daughters Sonyal Prater of Chesapeake, VA and Martha Goss and husband, Robert, of Leesburg, GA, grandchildren Tammie Prater, Chad Goss, Travis Prater, Angela Avery, Todd Prater, Heather McCarty, great grandchildren Courtney Avery, Morgan Prater, Megan Avery, Cameryn Goss, Grayson Goss, Madison Prater, Ellyson Goss, Mason Stabler, sister Annie Blakeley of Grady Co., GA. eleven nieces and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John Morgan Joiner, daughter Renee Joiner, son-in-law Johnny Prater, parents James Isaac and Rena Coble Wilder, siblings Loye Mae Wilder Bush Adams, James Wilder, Lenwood Wilder, Lillian Wilder Maxwell, Nell Wilder Pollock, Lydia Wilder Morrison, two nieces and three nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Jamerson Funeral Home in Pelham, GA. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Elder Jimmy Smith will officiate the services assisted by Rev. Lynn Roberts. Pallbearers are Chad Goss, Travis Prater, Todd Prater, David Avery, Joey McCarty, Tim Stabler. Interment follows in Branchville United Methodist Church Cemetery. Should you choose to make a donation, please do so to Mizpah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Sonya Godwin, 419 Godwin Lane, Pelham, GA 31779.
