Susan Claire Lagesse

Susan Claire Lagesse, 78, of Columbia, SC, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home. A private celebration of life was held on June 7, 2021. Susan was born to the late Carl and Dorothy Perkinson on April 20, 1943. Being a caregiver was one of her joys in life, taking care of those who could not care for themselves. She loved her children, grandchildren and her life partner, Lisa. So caring, loving, and a wonderful mother, she would do anything for you and enjoyed making people smile. Her family had their own personal meteorologist as she would always call and tell them when bad weather was headed their way making sure they were safe. Having so many children and grandchildren, getting their birthdays right was not an easy task for her. Nevertheless, she never forgot them, late or not. Survivors include her children, Troy Marcukaitis (Gail) of Lumberton, MS, Michael Marcukaitis (Sandi) of Peotone, IL, Bradley Marcukaitis (Diane) of Kankakee, IL, Valarie Lagesse of Greenville, SC,  Allison Glover (Tommy) of Cairo, and her life partner, Lisa Arn of Columbia, SC. She has many grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved showing off. A personal thank you to Dr. Raul Santos who did everything possible to make her comfortable and the staff of Archbold Memorial Hospital and Pelham Parkway Nursing Home.
