Royce Malvis Johnson, Sr.

Funeral services for Royce Malvis Johnson, Sr., 74, of Cairo will be held Monday, October 16, 2023 at 11:00AM at Pine Forest Baptist Church, where he was a member. Rev. Nathan Fowler will officiate and interment will in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carroll Johnson, Royce Johnson, Jr., Brendan Johnson, Ray Pearson, Keith Meadows and Ken Ansley. Born February 26, 1949 in Cairo he was the son of the late George W. and Mildred Bishop Johnson. Mr. Johnson passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Harborview in Thomasville. He was a machine operator at Oil-Dri Corp. He was married for 47 years to Mary Ellen Fowler Johnson. Survivors other than his wife include his sons, Carroll Johnson (Heidi); Royce Johnson, Jr.; (Angela); daughter-in-law, Anja Johnson; grandchildren, Michael, Jessica, Royce, III, Misty, Carroll, Brendan, Elijah, Johnathan, great grandchildren, Emily, Bennett, Mia, Hailey, Nate, and Marlon, a brother, Howard Johnson (Leslie); sisters, Louise Mitchell, Lilly Nash (Keith) and Brenda Fischer. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Gene, a son, Carl, and brothers-in-law, Bernie Fischer and James Mitchell.
