Rosa S. Barfield

Rosa Sadler Barfield, 80, passed away Friday, January 17, 2025, at Archbold Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services will be held Monday, January 20, 2025 at 2:00PM at New Home #2 Freewill Baptist Church, Climax.  Rev. Jimmy Hooks and Rev. Steve Poppell will officiate with interment to follow in the church cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Kevin Pollock, Justin Pollock, Kyle Pollock, Dustin Moore, Corey Morrison, and John Braxton Carnline.  Born February 9, 1944, in Grady County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Virgie Lee Sadler.  She worked with Busy Bee Daycare in Whigham and was a member of New Home #2 Freewill Baptist Church. She loved cooking, loved to bake, fish, and always put other's first.  She was devoted to her church and was known as the Cake Lady. Mrs. Rosa was married for sixty years to Preston Barfield, who survives. Other survivors include her children, Greg Barfield (Lisa), Daniel Barfield (Lee Ann), Michelle West (Darrell), Michael Barfield (Wendy) and Amy Rathel; grandchildren Brooke, Kayla, Mallory, Lacey, Katie, Cierra, and Brantly; great grandchildren Colt, River, Hatley, and Presley; sisters Betty Gutherie and Brenda Adams; and a brother Marvin Sadler.  She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Bradley Barfield, and two brothers Buddy Sadler and Edwin Sadler.  The family will meet with family and friends on Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 3:00-5:00PM at Willis Jamerson Braswell Funeral Home.
