Funeral services for Robert Chambers, 94, of Pelham will be Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 10:00AM at Hand Memorial United Methodist Church. Rev. Kathy Israel-McLeod will officiate and a private family interment will be at Funston Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Chambers, Doyle Chambers, John Chambers, Daren Chambers, Coy Chambers, Ansley Smith and Danny By Waters. Born May 5, 1926 in Funston, he was the son of the late J.J. and Nellie Alderman Chambers. Mr. Chambers passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020 at his residence. He was owner of Pelham Garden Center, Pelham American Legion, Mitchell County Cattlemen's Association, WWII Veteran and a Marine. He was married for 66 years to his wife, Ruthell Saunders Chambers who preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter, Joy Chambers Hurst; sons, David Chambers (Connie); Doyle Chambers and Cathy Houk; John Chambers (Sharon) all of Pelham; Daren Chambers (Vilma),Grandchildren, Alicia and Danny ByWaters, Coy and Sarah Chambers, Debbie Twomey; Great Grandchildren, Kaitlynn ByWaters, Alex Twomey, Thomas Twomey, sister, Lorena Barhite; sister-in-law, Bettie Chambers, Brothers-in-law, Earl Saunders, Bob Rippeon, Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and several brothers and sisters. Services will be live streamed on Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home facebook page.
