Ralph Burgess

Funeral services for Ralph Burgess, 73, of Pelham will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 2:00PM at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home. Rev. Arnold Buckner will officiate and interment will be at Cool Springs Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Aaron Burgess, Brandon Burgess, James Floyd, Rubicel Martinez, Hoyt Buckner, Shane Buckner and Michael Pickering. Born September 22, 1951 in Pelham he was the son of the late William (Billy) Henry and Annie Christine Rigsby Burgess. Mr. Burgess passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Mitchell County Hospital. He was a retired Logger, loved to fish and loved to play the lottery. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Joann Holton Burgess; his son, William Ralph Burgess both of Pelham; brothers, Ricky E. Burgess of Eatonton, GA; Bimbo Burgess (Sharon) of Lake Seminole, GA, Jerome Junior Tallent (Laura); sister, Libby Buckner (Arnold) of Pelham; grandchildren, Alexis Elkins (Luke) and Destiny Burgess (James Brown) both of Pelham; three great grandchildren, Cadence Brown, Maston Brown and Maeleigh Elkins and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Robert (Lee) Burgess, a sister, Teresa Bynum and grandparents, Henry and Janibelle Burgess and Willie and Mary Rigsby. The family will receive friends on Monday at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00PM.
