Funeral services for Raiford Chester Layton, 81, of Pelham will be held Monday, November 25, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home. The Rev. Les Pollock will officiate and interment will be in Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Ches Layton, Marc Logue, Billy Thompson, Nathan Newman, Brodee Layton and Cale Whigham. Born December 31, 1937 in Pelham he was the son of the late Lucious Chester and Elma Lodge Layton. Mr. Layton passed away Saturday, November 23, 2019 at his residence. He was a retired Mechanic. He was married to Patricia Ann Smithwick Layton who survives. Other survivors include his son Ray Layton (Sherry); a grandson, Ches Layton (Kylie); a granddaughter, Kasey Logue (Marc); great grandchildren, Macee Layton, Brodee Layton, Makaya Logue, Kayden Logue and Delaney Logue all of Pelham and a sister, Ann Glover (Hollis) of Virginia and brother, Lucious Chester Layton (Holly). He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother John Layton and sister, Helen Jones. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, November 25, 2019 from 10:00-11:00 AM.
