Odes Dow Harris

Funeral services for Odes Dow Harris, Sr., 87, of Camilla will be held at 3:00PM Monday, June 20, 2016 at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home. The Rev. Stacy West will officiate and interment will be in Pinecrest Memory Gardens.  Pallbearers will be Des Harris, Miles Adams, Josh Caldwell, Jordan Caldwell, Chase Caldwell, Earl West and Julian Stoudemire. Honorary pallbearers will be Tristen Harris, Tyler Harris, Taylen Harris, Blane Elrod, Abrey Elrod and Weston Fears. Born July 10, 1928 in Thomasville, NC, he was the son of the late Stewart and Carrie Pierce Harris. Mr. Harris was owner of Alexander-Harris Veneer Mill in Pelham and a member of Hand Memorial United Methodist Church. He was married for 67 years to Gloria Jean Norris Harris who survives. He was past president of Rotary Club and past Board Member of Pinecrest Country Club. He is survived by his son, Dow Harris (Susan) and his daughter, Betsy Caldwell (Lee Flynt). He was affectionately known as PAPA to his Grandchildren, Des and Shea Harris, Dannah and Miles Adams, Josh and Kim Caldwell, Jordan Caldwell and Chase and Hayley Caldwell, and Great Grandchildren, Tristen, Tyler and Taylen Harris, Perry and Weston Fears, Annalee and Harris Adams, Blane and Abery Elrod, Graci and Copeland Caldwell, Caden, Kinsley, Cohen and Jackson Caldwell. Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Johnsie Sexton, and a brother, Dalton Harris.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00-3:00PM.
