Funeral services for David Lee Chambless, 83, of Pelham will be held at 1:00PM Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Union Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. Doug Hall and Rev. Steve Wooten will officiate and interment will follow in Union Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Adam Rackley, Chris Rackley, Phillip Morris, Jamie Anderson, Charles Whigham, Drew Hall and Bo Harrell and Frankie Wisham. Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons of Union Grove Baptist Church. Born September 8, 1931 he was the son of the late Eugene Franklin Chambless and Harriett Etta Lee Chambless. He was owner of Chambless Sing Oil Station in Pelham and a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Kathryn Jeanette Kelley Chambless, Daughters, Jean Ann Chambless Poitevint and husband Randall C. Poitevint, Valinda Chambless Rackley and husband William S. Rackley, Grandchildren, Mary Beth Poitevint Morris and husband Phillip Morris, Jamie Anderson and wife Cassie Anderson, Shelly Anderson Harrell and husband Bo Harrell, Sabrina Anderson Whigham and husband Charles Whigham, Chris Rackley and wife Misty Rackley and Adam Rackley and Macie Roney. Other survivors include ten great grandchildren, Brothers, Henry Chambless and wife Sue Chambless, and Robert Gene Chambless and wife Jerrie Chambless, and a sister, Jeanette Chambless Ruffin and husband Donald Ruffin. Mr. Chambless was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Patricia Lee Chambless Anderson. The family will receive friends at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell on Friday from 6-8PM.
