Funeral services for Mildred Carter Davis, 100, of Pelham will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 11:00AM at Union Grove Baptist Church where she was a member. Rev. Doug Hall and Rev. Steve Wooten will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steven Jones, Michael Jones, Richard Holton, Collin Cleer, Jason Morey and Scott Carroll. Born August 17, 1923 in Colquitt County she was the daughter of the late Griffin and Laura Norman Carter. Mrs. Davis passed away Friday, November 24, 2023 at Lee County Health and Rehab. She was married on April 20, 1946 to Cecil Davis who preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Cecelia Holton of Putney; Clare Morey of Leesburg; and Juanita Jones (Lamar) of Camilla; grandchildren, Alicia Cleer (Collin) of Gray Court, SC; Richard Holton (Heather) of Albany; Carl Morey, Jr. (Candi); Jason Morey (Hope); and Scott Carroll (Jill) all of Leesburg; Michael Jones (Debbi) and Steven Jones (Mandy) of Camilla; ten great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Hobbs of Monticello, Fl; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Willie J. “Jimmy” Davis; two son-in-laws, Carl Morey and Tommy Holton; and two brothers, Ike Carter and JR Carter.
