Marcus Eugene Collins, Sr., 87, of Pelham, Georgia passed away on Friday, February 14, 2014 at Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla, Georgia. Born on January 25, 1927 in Albany, Georgia to the late John and Emma Woodruff Collins, Sr., he was a farmer and a member of Lake Pleasant Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Griffin Collins of Pelham, Georgia, children Elizabeth Ann Collins Ragan and husband Larry of Smiths, Alabama, Marcus E. Collins, Jr. and wife Rosa, David Almond Collins and wife Peggy, Jennifer Collins Smith and husband Tim, Rebecca Collins Davis and husband James, all of Pelham, Georgia, grandchildren Leigh Collins Stalvey and husband Michael, Marcus "Tres" Collins, III and wife Samantha, Elizabeth Rose and husband Brandon, Susannah Ragan, Garrett Collins, Winn Collins, Stephanie Searcy and husband Justin, Kadee Collins and husband Charlie, Sydnee Smith, Callie Smith, Jamie Davis, Lexie Davis, Billy Faith, great grandchildren Griffin Stalvey, Tillman Stalvey, Marcus "Collier" Collins, IV, Sy Collins, Gus Collins, Emma Rose, Carstin Searcy, Keltin Searcy, J. C. Collins and Cason Quinn. He was preceded in death by his son James "Jim" Edwin Collins, Sr., parents John and Emma Woodruff Collins, Sr. brothers John Collins, Jr. and wife Kathryn and Ralph Collins, Jr. and wife Joy, and a nephew Paul Collins. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2014 from 3 until 5 p.m. at Jamerson Funeral Home in Pelham, Georgia. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Rev. Larry Wynn will officiate the services with Marcus E. "Tres" Collins, IV, James E. "Winn" Collins, Jr., James E. "Jamie" Davis, III, Michael Stalvey, Charlie Collins, Brandon Rose, Justin Searcy, Ralph Collins, III and Ridge Collins serving as pallbearers. Interment will be held in Pinecrest Memory Gardens.
