Mae Ethel Hayes

Graveside services for Mae Ethel Barfield Hayes, 102, of Pelham will be held Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Meigs Sunset Cemetery. Rev. David Pickering will officiate.  The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Meigs Sunset Cemetery.  Mrs. Hayes passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home.  Born January 25, 1916 in Grady Co., she was the daughter of the late Lenard Ben Barfield and Dora Dollar Barfield. She was a member of Meigs Baptist Church. She is survived by her children Sara Caldwell (Joe); Grace Brogren; Betty Godwin; Bonnie Smith; and Trudie Hayes; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd Clay Hayes, two sons Gene Hayes and Donnie Hayes, five brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren.  Memorials may be made to Meigs Baptist Church or Southwest Georgia Hospice.
