Mrs. Madelene Voss Sloane, 85, of Pelham, GA passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 21, 2013. Born on January 24, 1928 in Davison, Alabama, she was a secretary for the Florida Department of Treasury. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pelham as well as the Eastern Star and the Civitans. Mrs. Sloane was an avid golfer and was the first lady to play in the Tallahassee Open Golf Tournament. Her parents, who preceded her in death, were Martin and Fannie Olivia Fincher Voss. She is survived by her children Mitzi Lyons Register and companion Dave Baker, David Lyons, Pat Lyons, grandchildren Lacy Register, Jacob Register and their father, Ben Register, Ashley Waldrep, Robert Lyons, Richard Lyons and their mother Pam Davis, Zachary Lyons and his mother Sug Neilson, great granddaughter Maddie Lyons, sisters Arvie Jernigan and husband, Ray, Tralis Williams and families, niece Linda Freeman and family and loving caretakers Bonnie Lowery, Travis Lowery and Derrick Lowery. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Sloane, parents, brother Randall Voss and sister Eva Lou Calhoun. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 2, 2013 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home in Tallahassee, FL. Funeral services will be held graveside on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Culley's Meadowwood Memory Gardens in Tallahassee, FL.
