Funeral services for Lonnie Emerson Gandy, 70, of Pelham will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Merriville Baptist Church. Rev. Hugh Rockett will officiate services with interment to follow at Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Logan Lamb, Ronnie Gandy, Ray Pearce, Gilbert Haskins, Donnie Haskins and Wes Antill. Mr. Gandy was born on February 4, 1943 in Pavo to the late George Wesley and Mary Francis McLendon Gandy. He was a member of Merriville Baptist Church and a veteran of the U. S. Army. Mr. Gandy would go on to wed Mrs. Linda Barnes Gandy and their union would continue until the time of his passing. During his life Mr. Gandy worked as a painter until retirement and he departed this life on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home in Pelham. Survivors to cherish his memory include his wife Linda Gandy of Pelham; sons Jonathan Gandy and Ashley Gandy both of Thomasville; step-son Todd Nix (Victoria) of Thomasville; daughter-in-law Jessica Gandy of Thomasville; grandchildren Skylar Gandy, Michaela Gandy, Chelcie Nix and Elizabeth Nix; brothers George Winfred Gandy (Reba) and Lavaughn Gandy all of Thomasville, Stanley Gandy (Jan) both of Vada; sisters Kay Lamb (Lester) of Thomasville, Shelba Thomas of Lexington, SC, Linda Antill Sellers (Will) of Havana, FL, Gail Hoke (George) of Homasassa, FL and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents George Wesley and Mary Francis McLendon Gandy; brother Ben Gandy.
