Leah Gurley Wright

Leah Gurley Wright, 65, of Pelham passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Archbold Memorial Hospital.  Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Pelham City Cemetery.  Rev. David Pickering will officiate.  Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Drinkwater, Tony Wright, Kevin Brooks, Richard Williams, and BJ Sellars.  Born April 28,1956 in Camilla, GA she was the daughter of the late Louie E. Gurley, Sr, and Christine Powell Gurley.  Leah was a member of Pelham First Baptist Church. She worked as an Accountant and Secretary with Coats and Clark, Pelham Ford, Autry Petroleum and Mitchell County Tax Commissioner office.  She is survived by her son, B. J. Wright and daughter-in-law Heather Wright, grandson Will Wright and wife Lilly Wright, two great-grandchildren, Miles and Marley Wright; her brother Louie Eddie Gurley, Jr. and wife Mary Kate Gurley, nieces, Christie Dossey (Beau) and Rachel Burton (Jeff), nephew Trae Gurley (Jessica Pope), great nieces Skyler Gurley and Isabella Dossey and great nephew Levi Burton, and caretaker, Amy Hernandez and a host of friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
