Funeral services for Lawrence Layton Hampton, 49, of Augusta formally of Pelham will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 2:00PM at Willis-Jameson-Braswell Funeral Home. The Rev. Herman Hampton and Rev. Stacy West will officiate and interment will be in Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Mr. Hampton passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Mitchell County Hospital. Born September 21, 1967 he was the son of the late Lawrence Haire Hampton and Olivia  Layton Hampton who survives. He graduated from Ravenwood in the class of 1986 and was a member of Silvercrest Baptist Church in Augusta. Pallbearers will be Shane Brinson, Ken Godwin, Mike Little, Will Norman, Marcus Brinkley and Lance Hampton. Honorary Pallbearers will be the class of 1986 at Ravenwood. Survivors other that his mother include a son, Rentz Hampton of Camilla; a grandson, Luke Hampton of Camilla; a brother Lesley Hampton (Amy) of Anchorage, Alaska; a sister Latrea Harrell (Jeffrey) of Cairo; numerous nieces and nephews and his Fiancee, Teresa Mills and son Noah Mills of Augusta. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 6:00PM-8:00PM.
