Joyce Janette Redmond

Funeral services for Joyce Janette Redmond, 92, of Thomasville will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 2:00PM at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home. Rev. Nathan Fowler will officiate and interment will be in Pelham City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Casey Lindval, Gabe Sadler, Carey Smith, Jamie Eubanks, Ricky Holcombo, Daniel Holcombo and T. J. Smith. Born November 8, 1931 in Ochlocknee, she was the daughter of the late Jasper and Lillian Ware Brinson. She passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 at her son's residence. She was married to James Richard Redmond, Sr. who preceded her in death after 50 years of marriage. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church where she was director of the WMU and church historian for many years and was retired secretary from Waverly. She is survived by her son, James R. (Dickie) Redmond (Dee) of Thomasville; grandchildren, Russ Redmond, Jacqueline Redmond, Richard Redmond, Carey Smith (Susan) and several nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her daughter, Jackie Redmond Melton and son, Andy Redmond. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00PM on Wednesday.
