Funeral services for John Edwin Baker, 56, of Sale City, will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 20, 2016 at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home in Pelham with interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Stacy West will officiate. Pallbearers will be Leon Warren, Shane Slocumb, Robert Grantham, Sidney Walker, Greg Brushaw, William Troutman, Fontaine Merriweather and Edward Funpes. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jamey Kennedy, Kim Perryman, Keith Burnham, Jim Outz, Glynn Maddox, Dan Baker, Jerry Slocumb, Buddy Smith, Andy Carroll, and John Swain and Rusty Cleary. Mr. Baker passed away at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, on Sunday, May 15, 2016. Born November 3, 1959, in Thomasville, Thomas County, Georgia, he was the son of Edwin and Estelle Baker. Mr. Baker was a self employed farmer and owner of Laney Farms.  He was a member of Hinsonton Baptist Church. He is survived by his son, Keith Baker (Carla) of Moultrie; two daughters, Rachel Wilkerson (Aaron) of Sylvester and Kayla Boone (Zach) of Sale City; grandsons, Kaleb Baker, Kohnor Baker both of Moultrie, Maverick Wilkerson of Sylvester; and two granddaughters, Kenzie Boone and Khloe Boone of Sale City; uncle, Jack Baker of Sale City; special friend, Cathy Smith of Sale City; stepdaughter Denver Coots ( C J) of Hartsfield; stepson Chip Jackson (Lynn) of Pooler; and step-grandchildren, Jerzie Coots and Preston Coots of Hartsfield, Victoria Strojny, Alexis Myers (Rory) and Savannah Strojny of Pooler. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Estelle Baker; and a sister, Sue Baker Harrell. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, May 19, 2016.
