Jimmy D. Palmer, 70, of Meigs, Georgia passed away at his residence on Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Born on October 9, 1943 in Pavo, Georgia, to the late Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Palmer, he was retired from the Thomasville Engineering Department. He was a member of the Meigs Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Diane Palmer of Meigs, Georgia, son Joel Palmer and wife, Tanya, of Wesley Chapel, Florida, daughter Mimi Tom and husband, Roger, of Martinez, Georgia, grandchildren Katya Zelaya, Emma Tom, Casey Tom, Riley Tom, sister Carolyn Allen of Albany, Georgia, sister-in-law Cissy White of Meigs, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Palmer. Jimmy loved his family, his church and the Georgia Bulldogs. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home in Pelham, Georgia. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Meigs Baptist Church. Rev. Allan Pierce will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be the deacons and the Senior Mens' Class. Interment will be held at Meigs Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Meigs Baptist Church Building Fund.
