Iris Nadine Faircloth

Iris Nadine Godwin Faircloth, 86, of Pelham, GA, went to heaven June 12, 2021.  She passed away at home.  Born January 6, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Alexandra and Annice Fain Godwin.  She was married to the late Curtis Q. Faircloth of Pelham, Ga.  She had four children, two sons that preceded her in death, Thelton Quaig Faircloth and Ted Lynwood Faircloth.  She is survived by two daughters, Esterlita West and Donita Thompson, both reside in Pelham.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Godwin, sisters Annice H. Simpson of Pelham, Ophelia Davis of Pelham, Dreka S. Clegg of Albany, Pearl McGrail of St. Louis, Missouri, and Penny Williams of Tampa, FL.  She is survived by one sister, June Hudson of Clearwater, FL.  Surviving in laws are Wallace and Sara Faircloth of Albany, GA, Orbie and Betty Faircloth of Americus, GA Nita Faircloth of Albany, GA.  Nine grandchildren, Buck Faircloth of Inverness, FL., Brandy Bell of Tallahassee, FL., Chad Faircloth of Cairo, GA., Alex West of Sanford, FL., Natasha Smith of Atlanta, GA., Heath West of Hawthorne, FL., and Chuck Faircloth of Fitzgerald, GA.,Necole West of Orlando, FL., and Amanda Faircloth of Tifton, GA.  Twenty three great grandchildren and three great great granddaughters, Tessa, Layla and Ellie along with many cherished nieces and nephews.  She was a homemaker and seamstress, having worked at Darwoods, Wiligree Shirt factory, Goodies, Draftin, Newton Manufacturing in Meigs and a wire cutter for I T T., Inc.  She received her graduate degree from Thomas Tech for CNA in her younger age of 62.  She put her degree to work serving several outstanding citizens.  She is a long time member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Camilla, GA..  Memorial services will be held October 10, 2021 at 3:00 PM at the home of Esterlita F. West, 310 Barrow Street, Pelham, GA.
