Funeral services for Ike Samuel Carter, 82, of Greenwood, SC will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 11:00AM at Union Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. Alton Harper and Rev. Olen Cain will officiate and interment will be in Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Born April 23, 1933 in Doerun he was the son of the late Griffin Samuel Carter and Rachel Horne Carter Duncan. Mr. Carter passed away Friday, November 27, 2015 at Magnolia Manor of Greenwood, SC. He was retired from the Camilla Housing Authority as a maintenance man and a member of Westside Baptist Church in Greenwood, SC. He was married for 12 years to Elizabeth Ann Davis Carter of Greenwood, SC who survives. Other survivors include his daughters, Gail Carter Littleton of Moultrie; Vivian Carter Williams and Fiance' Denny Pickett of Pelham; and a daughter-in-law, Shelby Dixon of Calhoun Falls, SC; five sons, Dan Carter and Stacey of Pelham; Charles Carter of Morgan; Brock Dixon and Laney of Greenwood, SC; Billy Dixon of Iva, SC and Kenneth Dixon and Catherine of Alpharetta; Grandchildren, Lee Taylor and Charlene of Funston; Brandon Hilton of Funston; Justin Harrell of Pelham; Travis Harrell and Jenna of Hopeful; Ridge Williams of Pelham; Trenton Carter and Allie of Pelham; Davis Dixon of Greenwood, SC; Anglish Dixon of Greenwood, SC; Joe Dixon of Calhoun Falls, SC; Brandon Dixon and Kelsey of Anderson, SC; Riley Dixon of Calhoun Falls, SC and Caroline Dixon of Alpharetta, GA; Great Grandchildren, Easton Carter of Pelham; Madison Taylor of Funston; Noah Magelund of Hopeful; Logan Magelund of Hopeful; Gracee Dixon of Calhoun Falls, SC; Gage Humbers of Funston and Kenny Humbers of Funston; a brother-in-law, Tom Davis and Virginia of Moultrie; and two sisters, Betty Hobbs of Monticello, Fl and Mildred Davis of Leesburg, Ga and three sister-in-laws, Evelyn Kincaid and Randall of Reno; Juanita Davis of Barwick and Rachel Davis of McBee, SC. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother J.R. Carter. Pallbearers will be David Hobbs, Sonny Tucker, Scott Tucker, Mark Pollock, Robert Epps and Steven Jones. Honorary Pallbearers will be Melvin Perkins, Jimmy Dixon, Irvin Beckwith, J. I. Hatcher and Richard Royal.
