Gwen Loyd Maloy

Funeral services for Gwendolyn Gray Loyd Maloy, 92, of Cairo will be Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 2:00PM at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Crapps will officiate and interment will be in Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be John Ivey Loyd, James Alex Owens, Robert Lent, Jordon Hurst, Nathan Hurst and James Keith Loyd, Jr. Born September 24, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Randall and Frances Piersie Fertic Gray. Ms. Maloy passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025 at her residence.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John Loyd, Sr. and Husband, Fred Maloy. She was a homemaker and member of Vineyard Ministries. She is survived by her children, Kathy Loyd Welch (Bill), John Loyd, Jr. (Mona), Jimmy Loyd, Sue Loyd, and Trish Loyd Myers (Johnny), Ste[p-Children, John Maloy, Sonya Maloy and Stacey Maloy, and a sister, Wilma Wells, 12 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren and her fur baby Missy. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and a grandson, Jonathan Hurst and a Granddaughter-in-law, Kourtney Owens. . The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 6:00-8:00PM.  The family would like to extend special thanks to Georgia Hospice Care and her caregivers, Virginia White, Jackie Davis, and Janett Laing.
