Funeral services for Gloria June Layton, 65, of Meigs will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 1:00PM at Union Grove Baptist Church with interment to follow in Meigs Sunset Cemetery. Rev. Doug Hall will officiate. Born June 8, 1949 in Thomasville, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late William Boutwell and Lottie Norman Boutwell. She was a homemaker and Married to James (Jimmy) O'Neal Layton, Sr. She was a member of the Meigs Garden Club and served on the Meigs City Council. She is survived by her husband, James (Jimmy) O'Neal Layton, Sr; son, James O'Neal Layton, Jr, and wife, Tracy; son, Johnny; and a daughter Jennifer Layton Williams and Husband Rod; and two grandchildren, Chris Layton and Storm Taylor Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Boutwell and Lottie Norman. Pallbearers will be Reggie Feagin, Durrell Cox, Keith Norman, Will Norman, Todd Bowden and Jack Smith, Jr,. and honorary will be Daniel Stanaland and Evan Garlick.
