Gloria Sue Evans, 78, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025 at South Georgia Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 10, 2025 at 11:00AM at Willis Jamerson Braswell Funeral Home. Minister Terry Carter will officiate and interment will follow at Pelham City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jody Evans, Christopher Carter, Brandon Carter, Dalton Howell, Tyler Weeks, Dwain Dye, Evan Carter and Tony Carter. Born May 10, 1946 in Meigs, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Henry Cecil and Rosa Lee Shockley Sellers. She was married to William Jody Evans who preceded her in death in June of 2009. Mrs. Evans was a retired cosmetologist having operated her own shop for many years. She is a member of Lake Park Church of Christ and a member of the Southern United Daughters of the Confederacy. She is survived by her children, Melissa Dye (Dwain), Machelle Carter (Tony) and Jody Evans (Geri); grandchildren Christopher Carter (Brittany), Brandon Carter, Presley Dye, and Josi Caroline Evans; great grandchildren Gracelyn Carter, Evan Carter, Carson Carter, Willa Laine, and William Conoley Evans; brothers Gene Sellers (Tina) and Cecil Sellers; sister-in-law Betty Sellers, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Randall Sellers, Buck Sellers, Evan Sellers and his wife Mary, sisters Elizabeth Ray and Fannie Hall. The family will meet with friends and family on Sunday, February 9, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Willis Jamerson Braswell Funeral Home.
