Gary Palmer

Funeral services for Gary Palmer (Wine Man), 92, of Pelham will be held Friday, June 30, 2023 at 11:00AM at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home. Services will conclude at the Chapel. Rev. David Pickering and Rev. Lynn Roberts will officiate and interment will be in Mizpah Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Louie Adams, Marcus Brinkley, Turner Eubanks, Robert Nesmith, Andy Palmer, Yale Whigham and Buddy Edwards. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clyde Davis, Edsel Palmer, Frank Stewart and Willie Wimberly. Mr. Palmer passed away at home on Tuesday, June 27, 2023. Born June 22, 1931 in Pelham he was the son of the late Issac Lester and Ruby Crosby Palmer. He was a retired farmer, loved to make wine, fish and served in the United States Army receiving the Korean Service Medal with five bronze stars and United Nations Service Medal. He is survived by his children, Phyllis Brinkley (Tommy) of Cairo; Dwight Palmer (Debra) of Pelham and Lesley Palmer (Sue) of Pelham; grandchildren, Nicki Palmer, Tanya Caraway (Chris); Kristen Welch; Brad Palmer (Jennifer); Marcus Brinkley (Heather) and Nick Brinkley (Holly) and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Rhonda Yancey, brother, KD Palmer, Sr. and sister, Zelma Palmer Williams. The family will receive friends at the funeral home an hour prior to the service.
