Graveside services for Frances E. Owens Godwin Bowen, 88, Pelham, are at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at the Mizpah Cemetery. Mrs. Bowen died Sunday, June 1. Born Dec. 2, 1925, in Mitchell County, GA, she was the daughter of the late James Roscoe and Ola Pearl Owens. Survivors include several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Godwin and Leonard Bowen; parents, James Roscoe and Ola Pearl Owens; brothers, James Roscoe Owens, Earnest Owens, Johnny Lindward Owens, Durwood Lee Owens, and Alvis Owens; sisters, Ruby O. Smithwick, Doris O. Boutwell, Vestal, Bernice O. Meads, Whiteley, Dessie O. Lodge, Reynolds and Myrtle O. Beverly. The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made to Mizpah Church.
