Funeral services for Faye West Stephenson, 85, of Meigs, will be held Monday, July 23, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home in Pelham. Rev. Deion Brown and Rev. Dennis Norman will officiate, with interment to follow at Meigs Sunset Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Amos Presley, Ike Sellers, Leslie Moore, Andy Whittaker, Bruce Coffee, Stan Meadows, Bill Blankenship, and Magnus (Sonny) Nixon. Mrs. Stephenson passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at her residence. Mrs. Stephenson was born Jan 23, 1933, in Mitchell County, Georgia to Leon West and Bernice Brooks West, both of whom preceded her in death. On Nov. 7, 1953, she married the love of her life John C. Stephenson. She built a life with him for the next 54 years until his death on Feb. 16, 2008. She exemplified Christian service, humility, and dignity that leave a legacy among her family and friends. Her family was the center of her life. She is survived by her children Michael J. Stephenson, Thomasville; Anne T. Hickey (Joe), Meigs; and Rhonda S. Grim (Joel), Thomasville; grandchildren Catherine T. White (Jody), Pine Park; John Dickinson, Thomasville; step-grandson Charlton Tyler (Laura), Funston; step- granddaughters Jillian Grim and Victoria Grim, Meigs; two great-granddaughters, Eteva Claire White and Ella Cate White, Pine Park; four step-great-grandchildren, Carey Tyler, Cate Tyler, Carson Tyler, and Caroline Tyler, Funston; a brother Johnny West (Betty), Albany, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Charles West and Preston West, sister Nell Wright, son-in-law Coy L. Tyler, and great-grandson Joby Coy White.
