Emory Gordon Gilmore, 85, of Pelham, Georgia passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Plantation Manor in Thomasville, Georgia. Born on January 26, 1929 in Macon County, Georgia to the late Harvey Jackson "Jack" and Ethel Gertrude McCarty Gilmore, he was a retired supervisor of 46 years for AT & T. He was a member and former elder for the Presbyterian Church of Pelham. He was one of the first members of the Pelham Jaycees and a 61 year member of the Smith-Spence American Legion Post #144. He is survived by his loving wife Doris Nelson Gilmore of Pelham, Georgia, sons Emory "Buddy" G. Gilmore and wife, Wanda, of Tallahassee, Florida, Bob Gilmore and Sanna Clark of Pelham, Georgia, Michael Gilmore and Joan Lindley of Cumming, Georgia, grandchildren Cricket Gilmore, Emory "Trey" G. Gilmore, III, Tracie Coats, great grandchildren Austin Hunter Gilmore, Sadie Reagan Gilmore, Marissa Raine Gilmore, Tristan Jacob, Shelby Lynn Kamradt, Tatum Nicole, Justin Gabriel Robertson, Jala Tianna Miller, Saryn Rhiannon Yates, and Christian Nicole Kamradt. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Angela Gilmore, great granddaughter Tessa Morgan, parents, four brothers and one sister. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 2, 2014 from 1 until 2 p.m. at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home in Pelham, Georgia. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. graveside at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Thomasville, Georgia. Dr. Steve Wooten will officiate the services with the members of the Smith-Spence American Legion Post #144 serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Bethany Hospice of Valdosta, Georgia or the Youth Ministry at the First Baptist Church of Pelham.
