Donnie Gene Sharp

Funeral services for Donnie Gene Sharp, 74, of Pelham will be held Monday, January 30, 2023 at 11:00AM at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home. Rev. Neal Hager and Rev. Ken Brogden will officiate and interment will be at Hopeful Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donovan Hurst, Cortin Rogers, Hayley Newberry, Trey Newberry, Mattie Brookshire and Lily Brookshire. Born November 26, 1948 in Camilla he was the son of the late William Lorenzo and Mattie Bell Hutto Sharp. Mr. Sharp Passed away Friday, January 27, 2023 at his residence. He was a member of Hopeful Baptist Church and worked for the Camilla Enterprise for 46 years. He was married for 57 years to Martha Rebecca Rigsby of Pelham who survives. Other survivors include his daughters, Donna Sharp of Pelham, Debbye Sharp Newberry of Leesburg, Dawn Sharp of Blairsville and  Diane Sharp of Leesburg; grandchildren, Donovan Hurst (Kaylee), Cortin Rogers, Hayley Newberry, Trey Newberry, Mattie Brookshire and Lily Brookshire; and one great grandchild, Elijah Brett Hurst. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Waymon Sharp and Louis Irvin Sharp and a sister, Patricia Ann Miller.
