Donald Elsworth White

Mr. Donald Elsworth White, 85, of Meigs passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015 at his residence. Services will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Midway Baptist Church. The Rev Nathan Fowler will officiate and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Thomasville. Born October 25, 1929 he was the son of the late Norman Elsworth White and Susie Mae
Godwin. He was a mechanical service engineer for Austin-Western, farmer, and radio station owner. He was a Veteran and past Commander of American Legion Post 144 of Pelham. He was married to Helen Marie White. Survivors include his son Jerry White (Cindy) of Pelham; daughter Susan Stanley (Robert) of Cairo; son, Donald Frank White (Bea) of Gaston, NC; and daughter, Cindy Howard (Ron) of Albany; Grandchildren, Bailey White, Daniel Stanley, Clayton Stanley (Stephanie), Jared Stanley (Cierra), Marie White, Frank White II, Fred White, Julie White, Rachel White, Robert White, Lucas Halstead, Bridget Howard, Brittany Howard, Matthew Howard and two Great Grandchildren, Conor Stanley and Hunter Michael. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and a brother, Lowell White. The family will receive friends at Midway Baptist Church on Thursday from 6-8 PM.
