Charles (Cecil) T. Nelms

Funeral services for Charles Theo Nelms, 92, of Meigs will be held Monday, January 15, 2018 at 11:00AM at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis Norman will officiate and interment will be in Meigs Sunset Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Nelms, Rob Butler, John Redmond, Sonny Nixon, Stacy West and Jeff West. Born July 27, 1925 in Ochlocknee he was the son of the late Oscar Vetters and Myrtice Cooper Nelms. Mr. Nelms passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Magnolia Manor in Cairo. He was a self-employed grocery store owner in Meigs. He is survived by his son, James Theo Nelms (Mary) of Ft. Walton Beach, Fl; two daughters, Brenda Willis (Wayne) of Thomasville and Kim Reese (Scott Miller) of Pelham; grandchildren, Rob Butler, Katie Jones, Charlie Faucett, Steven Nelms, Jason Nelms and Chris Nelms, Numerous Great Grandchildren, three brothers, Ralph Nelms, Carol Nelms, and Marlon Nelms and two sisters, Greta Sikes and Wanda Baumgardner. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Laura Dimple, brother Thomas R. Nelms and two sisters, Yvonne Tart and Frances Marcus. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 6:00-8:00PM at the funeral home.
