Bernice Blewett

Funeral Service for Bernice Hooks Blewett, of Camilla, will be held Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Father's Home Church Cemetery. Rev. Ed Green and Rev. Billy Smith will officiate. Born February 22, 1932 in Pelham, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late John Edgar Wisham, Sr and Effie Crosby Wisham.
Mrs. Blewett was a member of Father's Home Freewill Baptist Church, Golden Age, Pelham Senior Center and a retired seamstress from Darwood Manufacturing where she worked for 32 years.
Mrs. Bernice loved to sing gospel songs with her family and loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grands She loved going to the Senior Center until her health declined. She loved roses, walking and reading her Bible. Mrs. Blewett is survived by her sons Marvin Hooks (Mary Ann), Martie Hooks (Frances), daughter, Linda Hooks Hutto (Billy), all of Camilla; brothers Paul Wisham and Woodrow Wisham, sisters Willie May Hendley, Louise West, Pauline Harrell, and Christine Edwards, all of Camilla; grandchildren Tracy Hooks, Melissa Hooks Rykard, Valarie Hooks Humphries, Melvin Hooks, Kelvin Hooks, Jennifer Hooks Williams, Ashley Hutto Cochran and 21 great grands. She was preceded in death by her first husband John Melvin Hooks, second husband John C. Blewett, father John Edgar Wisham, Sr. mother Effie Crosby Wisham, and her brother John E. Wisham, Jr. Pallbearers will be Melvin Hooks, Kelvin Hooks, Tracy Hooks, Bryce Hooks, Steven Cochran, and Bryant Rykard. Honorary pallbearers will be friends from the Pelham Senior Center, William D. Norton, Bill Willis, Wayne Peacock, Carol Nelms, Jack Glausier, and Anthony Morrell. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, November 4th
