Bennie Roger McClelland

Bennie Roger McClelland, 76, of Cairo passed Friday, September 29, 2017 at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at  4:00PM at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home. Rev. Chad Cooper will officiate and interment will be at Mizpah Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David McClelland, Matthew Price,  Michael Page, Andrew Renaue, Joseph Hurst and Danny Thomas. and Honorary Pallbearers Dennis and Dewayne McClelland. Born November 10, 1940 in Whigham he was the son of the
late Ben Hill and Daisy Owens McClelland. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Church and later Long Branch Baptist Church. He worked as a delivery man for Bordens Ice Cream and served his country in the United States Air Force where he served on the honor guard for President Eisenhower and Vietnam-support and training of the South Vietnam Air Force and was on alert status during the Cuban Missle Crisis and the assassination of President Kennedy. He is survived by his daughters, Suzanne McClelland Page (Michael) of Cairo, Cheryl McClelland Samir (Sami) of Miami and a son David Roger McClelland (Jennifer Thomas) of Cairo; Grandchildren, Matthew Paul Price of Ft. Bragg; Catherine Rebecca Renaue of Albany; Saralyn Harnage of Tifton; Adam Youssef Samir of Miami; Ayman Medhi Samir of Miami; Kayden Luke McClelland of Cairo; and Step Grandchildren Kelli Page of Cairo; Hunter Page of Tifton; Abby Sawyer of Cairo, Jaylynn Page of Cairo, and three Great Grandchildren, Anleigh Dixon, David Renaue and Adalyn Renaue, a sister, Virginia Sellers of Cairo and a brother, Bobby McClelland of Whigham. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William McClelland. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the funeral home
